We're back from our holiday in Germany and had a lovely time visiting family and friends and just chilling out. This time we took the ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, the water was very quiet (much to my liking as I'm not overly keen on boats :-) and on the other side it took us another 4hrs drive to get to my mum. That way we were a bit more flexible over there when it came to doing daytrips. Especially on the return journey we appreciated having a car instead of flying as there are no luggage restriction....and there's always a lot to take back from Germany :-)

Hooded Jacket
Just before we go on holiday I wanted to show you a hooded jacket I made a few weeks ago. For the outer jacket I used lightweight outdoor nylon and Noahs stars jersey for the lining. The pattern is from the OTTOBRE issue 1/2010.

Skirt no 2
Burda pattern 8344, this time a more straight cut than the New Look pattern. Fairly easy to follow instructions, darts front and back, zip and pockets if desired. A good pattern for a workshop, I think. Now I have to look at suitable dates for the classes, will keep you posted once done.

Skirt pattern
I'm currently on the lookout for a skirt pattern that I can use for a
new workshop I'm planning. One that is pretty straight forward, easy to
understand and makes a nice skirt. And I thought I'd be a good idea to
try them myself before deciding on one.
So here we go: skirt number one is New Look pattern 6106, an a-line skirt in various lengths. It might not be the most exciting fabric I've chosen, but I was short of a black denim skirt. It fits around the waist perfectly but I had to take quite a lot in on both sides as it was too wide for my liking, but that's just my taste I suppose. Otherwise it's fine, apart from the chart that tells you the finished BUST measurements! Come on, really!?

New fleece
I thought I'd show you a photo of the jacket for Leoni that I just finished: in very soft and cosy micro fleece made from the "Zip Up" pattern in the OTTOBRE design magazine 1/2014. I'm still allowed to sew pink clothes for her but as you can see on the back, it has to have kind of a "cool" touch now :-)
Going by the weather here just now, she's going to get lots of wear out of it....
