Very easy and quick to sew: AMELIE in cosy fleece. The VIVI skirt in purple babycord is still from last year.

Growing up

When the Sneakers jersey arrived, Leoni asked straight away, if I would made her something with it. "A skirt would be great, mummy, or a dress please". I wasn't sure if that was such a good idea now that winter is approaching fast, so I convinced her that a jumper/long-sleeved t-shirt would be a better option. But the whole piece out of the sneakers fabric? Not what my daughter had in mind. She wanted it colourful and, oh boy, this one is VERY colourful. It was her, who chose all the matching jerseys. To be honest, when it was finished I didn't like it very much (the first time this has actually happened) and I thought it would better suit a boy. But my daughter loves it and my suggestion of putting it in the shop for sale made her nearly cry. Ok girl, it's yours. And yesterday she wore it for the first time and seeing it on her I now quite like it actually.

Back again

Fabric shopping is great, I love it! Too much choice though :-) I went to see the new summer collections from my Dutch suppliers and they have done a really good job again. I can't show you any photos yet unfortunately, but it will be a lovely selection: fresh summer prints, stripes, checks, denims, jerseys - and some nice fabrics for boys as well. I also brought some new ribbons and appliques and they should be in the shop tomorrow. All I need now is a good night sleep....

Fabric combinations

It's always tricky to figure out which fabrics go together, as every fabric in our shop has it's own page. Therefor we've combined some of the new autumn/winter fabrics for you, bundled together in shades of pink, red, blue, etc. These are only a few and the combinations are endless, but we hope it makes it a bit easier for you. If you have any specific fabrics in mind that are not shown and you are not sure if they match, just drop us an email.

All fabric combinations can be found here.

It has been fairly quiet on my blog recently, apologies for that. My mum was visiting us a couple of weeks ago and we had a lovely time together. And then my shop has been keeping me busy with a lot of new fabrics having arrived over the last few weeks. So there hasn't been much time for sewing. Nevertheless, as it's got quite cold here all of a sudden, I had to finish this winter-set for Leoni: hat, scarf and gloves in red fleece and navy jersey/fleece.

Another jumper is in the making right now, but I'm not sure if I'll manage to finish it before I fly out to Amsterdam early Monday morning. Fabric shopping for next summer, yippee!

"A place where you find interesting things, statues, animals and those things..." - that was Leoni's answer to this question:

A room full of newspapers:

And then we learnt that yesterday was The Big Draw in all museums throughout the country and Leoni was occupied while we had a good look around Dundee's McManus Gallery:
