New jersey scarfs

These loop scarf are so easy to make and pep up every wardrobe :-) I used some of the new Lillestoff jerseys, they are a dream to work with and the colours are just fab!

Another bag...

...in two different baby cord fabrics. I used iron-on Vilene Decovil for the first time to strengthen the bottom part and I must say this stuff is really good! It's not cheap, but it gives the fabric a leather like feel which is particularly helpful when making bags from lighterweight materials.

Meet LULU

During the Easter holidays Leoni started making this owl. She picked the fabrics and did almost all the sewing herself (I only had to help a little when it got too tricky). Then the flat little bird lay on the shelf for over a month and today was the day it finally came to live: some last stitches and fluffy toy stuffing and LULU was born :-)

And Leoni is mega proud of her :-)

New workshops

The new programme for my sewing workshops is online now! I've added a few new classes like bag making, sewing fleece jumpers and 1-2-1 tuition. Also brand new is the Sewing Club that runs for seven weeks where you can bring your own project, get some inspiration from other students, have a chat and a cup of tea and of course get some help if needed. More information on the classes can be found here:

Some bag making

One of the project for my workshops after the summer holidays is sewing a shopping/tote bag. They can be made from various kind of fabrics like denim, cotton, oilcloth, twill and even curtain fabrics. They have plenty of room for embellishments with appliques or ribbons and can be made with a zip, press button or normal button for fastening. The choice is yours...

New things for me

After mainly sewing for Leoni and the shop for the past days, weeks, months, I felt it was time again I did something for me. Both patterns are from the OTTOBRE women 2/2012, the trousers have a great fit, very comfortable, and almost perfect as I only straightened and lengthened the legs a little (but just because I liked it). The tunic is in it's original version much wider but it felt like wearing a sack so I took 4cm off on each side and not it sits fine on me. All I need now is a nice sun tan....
