I'm back

after a few exciting days in Birmingham at the Sewing for Pleasure show. It's been certainly an adventure with a lot of obstacles to overcome in the run up to it.
First of all my friend Loraine, who had planned to help me at the stall, came down with the flu two days before the show which meant I didn't have any companion at the show and to travel down with to Birmingham. But my lovely friend and customer Lorna from Bicester, who I had only know through email and phone, offered me to help out (with only two days notice!). No idea what I would have done without her, she was brilliant!!
The other issue was the van: the hire company had decided to upgrade my booking to a bigger van!!! Huge, I can tell you. And no other vehicle available! It was too big for me to drive on my own so my dear husband decided spontaneously to come with me. It took us almost 7 hours to get to Birmingham and after setting up the stall for another 2 hrs we made our way to the hotel, completely exhausted. Alan took the train back home and came down with Leoni again on Saturday so I didn't have to drive back home on my own.

Despite all the trouble we had a fabulous time and met lots of new and old customers. It was definitely worth it!

New El Porto bag

After I sold my last El Porto bag at the show in Glasgow I had to make another one for Sewing for Pleasure next week. My friend actually said it would be good if I had two to take - not sure if I will have enough time to sew up another one until Wednesday though....

When we got our little girl guinea pigs from the SSPCA we asked them, if there was any chance of them being pregnant. They said they've checked and couldn't feel anything - but it must have been really early stages. Now look at our Emily:

We are certainly no experts when it comes to those 4-legged friends, but she now has a very odd body shape, don't you think? And today I actually saw her belly moving while she was lying down. We don't know how far she is but it can't be very much longer, as it seems to me she's getting bigger by the day....
